Arrest in Shooting Causing Minor Property Damage, No Injuries

The Arlington County Police made an arrest in the shooting that occurred on June 19, 2024, in the 2600 block of Richmond Highway. Javon Brown, 23, of Capitol Heights, MD was taken into custody on June 22 and charged with Shooting Missiles at an Occupied Vehicle and Hit and Run. He is being held in the Arlington County Detention Facility.

The preliminary investigation indicates the male victim was driving southbound in the 2600 block of Richmond Highway when the male suspect drove alongside his vehicle, brandished a firearm and fired at the victim’s vehicle before fleeing the scene northbound on Richmond Highway.

A lookout was broadcast and responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect yielding negative results. The suspect is described as a thin male, approximately 5’8” with short dreadlocks driving a blue sedan.

Minor property damage and no injuries were reported. The victim reported just prior to the incident, he and the suspect were involved in a traffic collision in the vicinity of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
