Twilight Rock ‘n’ Run at South County
South County's Band hosts fundraising 5K race.
The inaugural Twilight Rock ‘n’ Run drew a nice-sized crowd to South County High School on Sept. 13, a cool Saturday night. The 5K race was sponsored by the South County Band Boosters to raise money for the band and for Turf SoCo, an initiative to raise money for new football field turf.

Forget first-debate politeness. Republican Barbara Comstock and Democrat John Foust — the candidates vying to replace longtime U.S. Rep. Frank Wolf in Virginia’s 10th Congressional district — sustained the hyper-partisan tenor of their campaigns during a debate-style forum hosted by the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce in Herndon last week.
Gala Event with Col. Allen West

Fairfax Station artist, Lynn Goldstein, has just completed work for the humanitarian and multi-national exhibition, “Amen-A Prayer for the World,” to take place at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. (Aug. 31 – Oct. 6) and the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in New York City (Oct. 12 – Nov. 6).
Principals Visit Island in Chesapeake Bay

From July 30 to Aug. 1, 24 principals from elementary and middle schools in Fairfax County embarked on a journey to Port Isobel, located near the island of Tangier Island in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay.
